Ambien Side Effects: Depression & Hallucinations

My wonderful husband and father of 3 started taking Ambien to help him sleep in January 2009. He was a stock broker and the market was horrible. He was feeling down about his clients’ losses and took things WAY to personally, as if he could change the market. After 6 nights of the worst sleep with Ambien (or should I say NO sleep?), he jumped from a parking garage after hallucinating that people were “after him.” He had never been depressed a day in his life. Truly, the happiest, most easy going guy I knew. What a loss… I cannot believe this stuff is still on the market. After a year and a half, I am now aware of 7 suicides by people taking Ambien.
