My mind won’t turn off at night. At first I thought it was the wonder drug because I slept. After a few months I had bad side effects like eating at night and wondering the next day who ate all the potato chips. My husband assured me it wasn’t him and he doesn’t really like them. I would get phone calls from online schools telling my I applied to them for more information and I swore I didn’t give them my name and phone number. The pill would get me to sleep but would be awake in 4 hours. I knew I had to get off of Ambien CR. I was on the 12.50 dose and would cut them in half and take only half a pill for a few days. I also found a natural non addictive sleeping pill called “Sleep Tonight through Amazon. I would take half an Ambien and 2 Sleep Tonight pills for a few days. I cut the half Ambien in half and take one quarter of that and 2 Sleep Tonight. I stopped the Ambien CR pill in 2 weeks and just take the Sleep Tonight which works and my mind stops racing using a non addictive natural pill. You cannot believe how excited I am from being off Ambien and don’t understand why a Dr would put me on something so addictive in the first place. Anyone can get off of Ambien it just takes some time and think how good you will feel without it. No more worries of what I did during the night that I don’t remember the next day or being anxious when the phone rings that I gave out my number over the internet.

I have tried many times to get off of it with no success. They say it is non-additive, but I don’t believe it. Some have said that instead, it is habbit forming. Habit forming or additive, whichever, it is all the same to me. It is though I have been trapped by the medical community, Dr. Haynes (sleep specialist) in particular. I realize that their original intentions may have come accross as trying to help, yet on the darker side, it is all about the money. The doctor gets you hooked, the drug company is guarnteed to make money, as well as the doctor is assured of repeat business against the patient’s will. What more could these people ask for. I am not saying that ambien is bad in and of itself, it is just that I want to use it on my terms; that is to say that if I want to take two of them in a single night, who the hell is the fucking DEA to say otherwise. The tolorence can become so great that taking ambien is like taking nothing at all. But dare to go without it, and you could risk a heart attack according to my pharmacist, because doing without this addidictive drug (ambien) increases heart rate and increases anxiety, etc. When I take ambien, I become more of a compulsive eater late at night, making me fatter that ever. I feel life is not worth living anymore. My wife seems to care, but she really doesn’t understand, so I am totally alone in this.I suppose the only real revenge I can achieve regarding ambien is to check out with the whole lot of them as my last and final friend.

My goddaghter’s father has been taking ambien since it came out, recently he took ambien and can’t remember the remainder of the day until he awoke in the hospital. What he doesn’t remember is his inlaws gave dropped his daughter back home for him to care for, he took a gun and started shooting outside at his dog, he walked and purchased beer — he doesn’t remember any of this other than taking the ambien and then was in the hospital — apparently he remembers taking 1 ambien and then another one 1 hr later — when we found the bottle it appears he may have taken more which he states he only took two — needless to say he is facing criminal charges and may never see his baby daughter again.

We need whatever information out there for him. When he found out what happened he broke down crying because he has no recollection. Please help.
